To the Guinness Storehouse from The Anchor Guesthouse.
The Guinness Storehouse is a Museum dedicated to the production of
Guinness from 1759 onwards. The Guinness Storehouse is situated
where Guinness was first brewed, and continues to be. The Guinness
Storehouse visitor entrance is situated on (Market Street
South), about 3km west of The Anchor Guesthouse, on the south bank
of the river Liffey. The Guinness Storehouse contains many
demonstrations, models, & video which explain the complete
production.
The
tour is not completed until a Pint of Guinness is sampled at "The
Gravity Bar" on the roof of the Storehouse.
The
easiest way to reach The Guinness Storehouse from The Anchor
Guesthouse is to use the LUAS Tram. Get on the Tram at Lower Abbey
Street, which is a short walk from The Anchor Guesthouse. Pass the
following Tram Stops: Jervis, Four Courts, Smithfield, Museum, &
Heuston Train Station. Get off the Tram at the very next stop,
which is St. Jame's Hospital.
Get
off the LUAS Tram at St. Jame's Hospital. Do not cross the tracks.
Walk east onto Jame's Street, for a short distance, (ask if you
become unsure) & turn right onto Echlin Street. It ought to be clear
now that you have arrived at an Industrial facility, which looks
large & old.
From
here, The Guinness Storehouse entrance is located a short walk away,
the 2nd turn right, on Market Street South.
