The Gate Theatre has been a landmark building for over 250 years.

The Gate Theatre was established in 1928 by Hilton Edwards and Michael Mac Liammoir.

The Gate Theatre always promotes local Irish writing, & Irish talent. It continues to attract the finest of creative talent and offers a stimulating and inclusive programme, to satisfy most theatre fans. Some Gate productions tour the world.

The Gate Theatre established unique working relationships with Samuel Beckett, Brian Friel, and Harold Pinter.
